Symantec Workflow Solution Getting Started Training (3 days)

Training Objective

New users to Symantec Workflow Solution learn the basics and how to work with the mostly used components. Experienced users learn best practices on how to optimize workflows and how to integrate Workflow Solution with existing systems.

Training Organization

Participants can select to utilize a virtual server which we supply in VMWare format (participant is responsible to have capable hardware to run the virtual machine) or to use an RDP connection into a pre-provisioned virtual machine in the cloud we make available (internet connection required).

  • Overview of Workflow Solution
  • Creation of simple webform workflows
  • Understanding the different workflow types
  • Creation of a workflow process type
  • Working with the components "Number range ules", "Compare numbers rules" and "Hanging path trigger"
  • Passing component data and working with "linking" of workflows via models
  • Working with the components "Matching rules", "Equals rules", "True False rule"
  • Creation of a multilanguage workflow
  • Working with the components "Decision tree" and "decision path"
  • How to add integration libraries

Day 2

  • Utilizing available web resources to learn more about Workflow Solution
  • Creation of an approval process
  • Custom integration component creation
  • Using JavaScript in workflows
  • Creation of a satisfaction survey
  • How to use Windows NT authentication with workflows

Day 3

  • How to work with collections
  • How to organize, document and backup workflow projects with SMP 7.5 Workflow Management
  • Creation of a workflow which integrates with the Symantec Management Platform 7.x as a right-click action
  • Creation of a workflow which calls SMP Task Server Tasks
  • Creation of a Service Catalog with automatic computer identification
